Frequently asked questions and information

How far can the horse and carriage go?
A horse and carriage will average about 4 miles per hour. Heat, long or steep hills and other factors can slow down travel as well. To provide an enjoyable and safe trip we require a preinspection of the travel route. Several stops may be required to rest the horse. We must always consider the safety and well being of both passengers and the horse.

What if it rains?
The carriage is equipped with a folding canopy top that can keep out the majority of the elements. However, it may not keep out blowing, driving rain and dust.

Can you travel at night?
The carriage is equipped with driving lights and the canopy can even be illuminated with white Christmas decorations. This not only makes it highly visible, but it becomes a stunning display.

Can anyone drive the carriage?
NO...Our insurance carrier does not allow anyone other than Stevens Family Carriage Service employees to drive or be seated in the drivers seat. Not even for photos.

Stevens Family Carriage Service LLC reserves the right to refuse services for any reason. Under no circumstances will we allow or permit exposure of the horse or ourselves into any known, potential or percieved danger.
